Driving with a dog
Safely secured and arriving relaxed.

Securing is a must
In a car a dog counts as cargo and must be secured. In an emergency stop, a loose dog becomes a danger to himself and everyone else.

Crate or harness
Safest is a sturdy crate in the boot. Alternatively there are safety harnesses with a seat belt. Never buckle him in by the collar.

Get used to it slowly
Start with short trips to nice places. If he gets carsick, it helps not to feed him beforehand. If he's very sick, ask the vet.

Breaks and water
On long drives take a break every two to three hours to drink and relieve himself. And in summer: never leave him behind in the car.
In shortAlways drive with him secured and practise with short, nice trips.
