Practising recall
So your dog comes when you call.
A signal of its own
Pick a word or whistle that you only use for recall. His name alone is often not enough, he hears it all day long.
Coming always pays off
Every time he comes, there's something really good: a special treat or a short game. Never call him to scold him.
Start small
Practise first at home and in the garden, then outside on a long line. Only once that works, add distractions.
Don't repeat
Call only once. If he doesn't come, walk away or make yourself interesting instead of calling louder and louder.
