Ticks and fleas in dogs
Protect, check, remove properly.
Ticks spread diseases
Ticks can pass diseases such as Lyme disease or anaplasmosis to dogs. They are active from spring into autumn, and on warm days in winter too.
Prevention
There are tablets, spot-ons and collars against ticks and fleas. Discuss with your vet which product suits.
Checking
Feel your dog all over after a walk, especially the head, ears, armpits and between the toes.
Removing properly
Grab the tick close to the skin with tick tweezers or a tick card and pull it out slowly. No oil and no glue.
