Your cat comes from a shelter
What to ask beforehand and what to take with you.
Asking pays off
The shelter already knows your cat. Ask about food, favourite spots, fears and how she gets on with people and other animals. That makes the first days easier.
Take the papers
Ask for the vaccination record, adoption contract and information on treatments. Keep everything safe, you'll need it at the vet and for travel.
Everything already in the app
If your shelter uses Tendra Pets, you get a QR code at the handover. Scan it in the app and vaccinations, feeding times, medication, care tasks, appointments, weight and photos are with you straight away. You don't have to type anything and can start with reminders right away.
Take a piece of home
A blanket or toy from the shelter smells familiar and helps her settle in.

Some shelter cats have been through a lot. It can take weeks until they build trust. Every small step counts.
