Why cats drink too little
With a few tricks your cat will drink more.

An old inheritance
Cats naturally don't feel very thirsty. Too little fluid can strain the kidneys and urinary tract over time, so it's worth helping a little.

Away from the food
Many cats don't like drinking right next to their food bowl. Put water in several places around the home, a little away from the food and the litter box.

Wide and shallow
Narrow, deep bowls bother the sensitive whiskers. Wide, shallow bowls made of ceramic or glass are often preferred.

Running water
Some cats love drinking from the tap. A drinking fountain can replace that. Try out what your cat likes.

Warning signs
If your cat suddenly drinks a lot more or pees noticeably more, it can be a sign of illness. Then it's better to see the vet.
