Weigh regularly

Guinea pigs often only show illness late. Weigh them about once a week. If one loses weight, have it examined.

Teeth

The teeth grow constantly. Drooling or poor eating can point to dental problems.

Claws

The claws often get too long and need trimming regularly. Ask your vet to show you how.

Warning signs

Puffed-up fur, withdrawing, diarrhoea or noisy breathing are warning signs. Then see the vet soon.
