Never alone
Budgies are flock birds and need at least one companion of their own kind. A mirror or plastic bird is no substitute.
Flying every day
Birds are made to fly. Daily free flight in a safe room is important, even with a large aviary.
Natural wood perches
Branches of different thicknesses keep the feet healthy. Smooth plastic perches aren't good.
Dangerous fumes
Non-stick pans can give off fumes when overheated that are deadly to birds. Smoke and air fresheners are harmful too.
